Divine Mercy Catholic School strives to learn, teach, share, celebrate, and inspire each other to be disciples of Christ
The School Committee is a group of discerned parents who, along with the pastor(s) and administrator, are dedicated to the promotion and welfare of Catholic education.
The School Advisory Committee (SAC) serves as an advisory body to our school’s governing team, which consists of Fr. Joe, Mrs. Rucka, and the Parish Trustees. SAC has three main purposes: 1) marketing and planning to promote the school’s longevity; 2) serving as a bridge between the school and parish; and 3) assisting the governing team when policy or budget updates occur. This can include feedback on large expenditures/purchases, updates to the handbook, school uniform policy, etc. SAC also serves as a resource to school families by funneling ideas or feedback and making recommendations on behalf of the school to the governing team. Home and School and Athletics are subcommittees that fall under the umbrella of SAC.
In September of 2024, we welcomed this year’s committee members and elected officers. The 2024-2025 members and officers include: Andrea Ogden (chair), Josh Lequia (vice chair), Olivia Kopitzke (secretary), Linda Bryant, Jason Gonzalez, Sarah Mulloy (ex-officio, Parish Council representative), Jule Ann Robinson, Evelyn Skoglund, and Principal Loreve Rucka (ex-officio).
To best serve the school and parish, we identified four goals for 2024-2025: 1. Strengthening our Committee and developing SAC identity; 2. Becoming more transparent and accessible to parents; 3. Promoting the longevity of the school; 4. Building a bridge between the school and parish to strengthen community through evangelization, works of service, and a welcoming environment that encourages others to join in school and parish activities.
Please watch for regular updates from SAC throughout the year in the school mailer. If you have questions for SAC, or are interested in joining, please email us at: [email protected].
